Bulletin:  Surprise Public Meeting On Comprehensive Plan To Be Held Tomorrow

A meeting on the Pinal County Comprehensive Plan will be held at Pinal  Justice Court #6 (the Oracle Courthouse) tomorrow, August 15 at 5:30 p.m.

Reportedly, representatives of the Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) and the Tucson Active Management Area (TAMA) will be in attendance.

Despite the fact that Pinal County officials claim they seek public input to the plan, a public notice for this meeting cannot be found.

Word of the meeting leaked when Canada del Oro residents heard about the meeting from an ADWR employee.

Canada del Oro residents have objected to the fact that ADWR was intending to grant a Certificate of Assured Water Supply for the Eagle Crest project and had driven to Phoenix to attend a preliminary hearing at the ADWR offices.  While there, the citizens  were told a meeting in Oracle was scheduled for tomorrow and that ADWR and TAMA representatives would attend.

Dennis Cady, Director of Pinal County Planning and Development
When asked, Ann Woodin, an Oracle resident appointed by County Supervisor Lionel D. Ruiz to work on the Comprehensive Plan, confirmed a meeting is scheduled for tomorrow.

Woodin claimed she didn't know what the meeting was about, but said she planned to attend as an appointee.

The meeting will reportedly be chaired by Dennis Cady, Pinal County Director of the Pinal County Planning & Development Department.
